NOT EVEN THE RUGGED INEOS GRENADIER IS SAFE FROM MANSORY

It's no big surprise when we learn that Brabus has modified another Mercedes-AMG G63 or that Manhart has gilded a Range Rover because those SUVs are designed to be somewhat flashy, despite their underlying off-road abilities. But now the taste-deficient tuner known as Mansory has approached the SUV styling exercise from a different standpoint, starting with a rugged and intentionally old-school Grenadier and giving it cosmetic upgrades that Ineos founder Sir Jim Ratcliffe surely never envisioned.

2024 Ineos Automotive Grenadier
Base MSRP $71,500
Engine 3.0L Turbo Inline-6 Gas
Horsepower 282 hp
Fuel Economy 15/15 MPG

The tuner also gave the BMW-sourced B58 engine a light massage, which is something Sir Ratcliffe is in favor of, upgrading the 3.0-liter straight-six turbocharged engine from 282 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque to 345 hp and 413 lb-ft. That's well below the engine's performance ceiling, but additional performance would have required more than just a software remap, and as reliable as the B58 is, we like that Mansory hasn't excessively compromised the usability of the SUV with a crazy power boost.

Mansory Is Not Shy With LED Lighting

Mansory has sprinkled carbon fiber all over the place to draw more attention to the vehicle, but it's also added useful LEDs with the carbon fiber front lip, front and rear roof spoilers, and side roof bars all now providing some form of illumination. Those on the front spoiler and front bumper are larger spotlights, so there is still some consideration toward off-roading. However, these lighting elements are all made of carbon fiber, which is not a material that you'd want to see scratched by the sustained abuse of rock chips and tree branches. More carbon fiber appears in the front fascia mask, which bears a subtle illuminated Mansory logo. The hood, with its exposed carbon bulge, is less restrained.

More carbon fiber appears in the form of the spare wheel cover, vented widebody arches, rear bumper extensions, taillight surrounds, and front fender outlet grilles. The tuner has also fitted springs that raise the ride height by 0.8 inches. Mansory paints the springs and calipers in body color, or any other hue you desire. The finishing touch is a newly designed 9.5x20-inch wheel called the FV.9, with 305/50R20XL rubber. The overall effect is not the worst we've seen, but then again, we haven't talked about the cabin yet.

The new customization department will handle everything from style to technology and performance, and it's got a kickass name, too.

That's Not Maroon

The tuner has swathed the entire cabin in a pink leather it calls Maroon, with Arctic White contrasting piping and accents. The door trims, dashboard, center console, and roof switch panel are all made of branded carbon fiber once again, and the latter now houses the engine start/stop button, except it's now a tactile switch. Both front and rear seats are ventilated, and there's a refrigerator in each row and a new wireless charging pad at the back. Look up, and you'll see a Rolls-Royce-inspired fiber optic headliner. Look down, and quilted leather floor mats remind you that this is no place for muddy feet from a day on the trails.

Carbon fiber pedals and a carbon fiber steering wheel have also been fitted, and there's a lot more illumination with a backlit dashboard logo, door panels, and side sills. The final luxury enhancement is at the rear, where the backrest angle has been adjusted for greater comfort. There's no word on pricing, but this is Mansory, and don't think that just because the Grenadier starts at a little over $70,000 the company will take it easy on your wallet; Mansory is the sort of tuner that ruins Bentleys for fun.
